There were ~25 Mallards, same # of canadian Geese, coots, 3 male Buffleheads and 2 female, ~12 ring-billed gulls and 2 Mute Swans. There is another similar pond southeast of Aborn and Ruby on Verona Blvd that had ~30 mallards, 4 white domestic ducks, 1 male bufflehead and a common goldeneye. I also went to Montgomery Hill O.S.P. Its pretty open so not a lot of birds. A Kestral and some white-crowned and golden-crowned sparrows and a few house finches. At 11:00 I met Phyllis Swanson at Lake Cunningham. Here is a list of birds we saw: American Coot American Kestral American White Pelican Anna's hummingbird Black Phoebe Bushtit California Towhee Canadian Goose Common Merganser (M,F) Double-crested Cormorant Eared Grebe Great Blue Heron Great Egret Green Heron House Finch Kingfisher Mallard Merlin (he kept coming back to the same tree so we got a good look at him) Mourning Dove Nuttles Woodpecker (M,F) Pied-billed Grebe Red-shouldered Hawk Red-tailed Hawk Red-winged Blackbird Ring-billed Gull Ruby-crowned Kinglet Ruddy Duck Snowy Egret Turkey Vulture Violet-green swallow White-crowned Night Heron White-crownwd sparrow White-throated Swift Yellow-crowned Sparrow Yellow-rump We ran out of time and did not cover the Tully Rd and White Rd perimeter of the park. - Summer Brasuel _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
