It was in the hedge under the magnolia tree by the house near the chicken coop with at least 8 HERMIT THRUSHES and a FOX SPARROW (no American Robins there any more though). Over near the hedge/fence on the west side of this enclosed garden was an immature WHITE-THROATED SPARROW among the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS. This bird was very drab, with minimal yellow in the lores, a very poorly defined throat patch, and remnants of juvenile brown streaking on the sides of the chest. This must be a different bird from the white-striped adult reported from the compost pile in the vegetable garden several times earlier this winter.
