With all this wind I checked out the Rookery at Vasona this morning around 8:30 AM and as I drove in I found four herons in the large field...two were hunting, was half standing and the other was sitting in the grass.... I check the Rookery only to find one heron on a nest...Nest 2 is being pulled apart by the wind and I can see through the bottom of the nest...very heartbreaking....Finally the heron left after being blown around in the nest..... One of the herons is having a hard time...as it's wing is drooping ...it can fly but the wind is just messing up this bird something awful. I checked the Campbell Ponds to see if anything had been blown in....the Osprey was on the tree limb holding on for dear life...The only bird added to my part list was a Glaucous-winged Gull.... Stay dry and good birding... My best regards, Linda Sullivan _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
