Yes I also had this hawk on January 20th @ 10:30 AM. I parked in the
Share Ride parking lot on the westside of HY280-Page Mill Rd.
 What I saw I positively Rough-Legged Hawk. The sun was perfectly
positioned to see the tail banding and wing primaries + size of the bird
compared to the common Red Tails in the area.
 I reported the sighting to Les Chibana of La Honda, because at the time
I was not subscribing to SSB and Les has been an active sighting poster
to SSB.
Nice bird ~ I am told for Santa Clara County, per Les Chibana.

Grant Hoyt called and said that he saw a probable Rough-leg on the east 
side of I-280 between Page Mill and Alpine this afternoon, right beside
the 
freeway.  He and Karen made two passes on the bird.
