Today I did a quick run to check out the Rookery at Vasona. I was thrilled to see that it now has five nests being occupied. I counted 11 herons and one of the herons was going from nest to nest and be chased by the other herons. Lots of flight displays, males bringing females twigs and the females placing the twig into their nests. The Red-shouldered hawks were present and usually nest just down from the Rookery. PLEASE READ: I did a quick stop at La Riconada Park today and was totally shocked to read that the town has posted a Mountain Lion sighting in the park. This is a tiny park and it is runs along side of La Rinconada Golf Course...hard to believe a Mountain Lion would show up there....So just be careful when you go to bird the park... Wishing you all good birding and my best regards, Linda Sullivan _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
