Tricolored has been in > steep decline on this count in recent years. I had neglected some late input however: David Suddjian reported a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL, and I also failed to add 1 for another species I learned of late. So the total species count becomes 168 +/- 1. I also omitted to mention one notable species: PILEATED WOODPECKER - a total of 4 were detected (I think 3 were in San Mateo Co. and 1 in Santa Clara Co.). While this species has become regular in the past few years (it is now in the "expected" category), we have not previously recorded more than 1 per year on this CBC. Welcome! Also becoming regular in the area is WILD TURKEY, which was reported from a number of places, but I haven't yet tabulated the details.
