The Greater White-Fronted Geese continue at Byxbee Park in Palo
Alto: a group of three feeding on the hillside with the numerous
Canada Geese, and a different group of three swimming in the slough
south of the hill.  Some other birds seen: one Bufflehead (I think),
numerous Northern Shovelers and Ruddy Ducks, a flock of White
Pelicans surrounded by a flock of Avocets, and a lovely male
Kestrel who swooped up to the power line above me and gave
me a nice long look.

I've had small flocks of Audubon's Warblers in our red oak tree in
western San Jose (near SJCC) for a couple of weeks now.  Never seen
them here before (though being on this list has inspired me to be more
observant!) but I used to see somewhat similar birds in Los Altos
which I thought were Pine Siskins, and now I wonder if they, too,
were Audubon's Warblers.
