Bixbee Park was gorgeous this afternoon, and 3 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE continue at the top of the hill with about 150 CANADA GEESE. Matadero Creek, on the far side of Bixbee Park, was full of ducks and shorebirds. There was also a small flock of AMERICAN PIPITS. There were no Burrowing Owls peeking out at Bixbee today; later, however, one jumped out of a hole right in front of me (at telephone pole E8) as I was crossing the endless parking lot E at the "Kite Flying Area" of Shoreline Park (which will be featured in my future book, "Where NOT to Park to Get to Popular Local Birding Destinations.") Take care!
