It flew over high, and interacted with some other birds on its way east over the boat-launch ramp. Today, another SEOW flew across low, twice, also along the same route and near the time of high tide. On its second, harrier-like, pass it landed on the last, flooded land before the bay proper. It provided long-time views in many scopes, with powers up to 100x. We watched it look around, preen, move slightly when bothered by a raven, etc., for at least 45 Minutes, and it was still there when I left. I wonder if this is not normal hunting behavior of SEOWs at the time of extreme high tide. I, personally, intend to look closely at anything flying somewhat like a Northern Harrier on the next new moon high tides around January 10. Another reason for this e-mail is to see if I’m still causing “apostrophe catastrophe” for some people receiving my e-mails from SBB.
