It's always also been my rule of thumb that White-throated Sparrows in CA tend to hang out with Golden-crowned, or at least in mixed flocks of Golden-crowned and White-crowned. An exception might be the small "flocks" of White-throated which sometimes show up in Marin. On the other hand, Harris's Sparrow seems most likely to be found with White-crowned.
