Several birders tried w/o success for Black Rail during today's high tide,
but a very cooperative Clapper Rail in Rail Alley was nice to see. I made
a brief circuit in Byxbee Park where 2 other birders pointed out a solo Wild
Turkey near the parking lot -- this seemed like a very odd location for one.

Of interest also was a Loggerhead Shrike on the third set of mounds on the
hillside adjacent to the dump. BTW, is this still a good location for
Burrowing Owl? I looked but didn't see any.
