Rarely, these birds will use natural shelters within cliffs or eroded rocks. Such a site has been found in Alameda County, where both Rock Pigeons and House Sparrows nested in solution holes and crevices in sandstone outcrops that were near a small ranch that apparently did not have suitable nest sites. Has anyone noted such a natural site in Santa Clara Couny? Also, Rock Pigeons probably nest year-round, but we don't have any observations for January. Has anyone ever recorded nesting in the county of this feral bird in December, January, or February? Bill _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
