A downy BLACK SKIMMER chick was active and quickly spotted. Then, suprise of suprises, a 2nd downy Black Skimmer chick emerged from the pickleweed. Both chicks cavorted around for awhile and great looks were had. Not much new to say on RED KNOT. We had them through out our stay at the S.Crk. mouth. Frank got a count of 6 at one point but with the ever greater accumulation of shorebirds and shifting groups it's hard to say what a total might have been for the period. We did have a short look a one Red Knot with a good sprinkling of alternate plumage on the top side and a very large area of salmon red on the flanks and belly.
