I did not see any signs of the Wandering Tattler or Black Tern found there recently. I had two GREEN HERONS at different spots. Late nesting ducks included three ducklings with a MALLARD, at least two broods of LESSER SCAUP with 10 ducklings and 14 half grown birds (the latter could have been the ducklings I saw a month ago), and eight RUDDY DUCK ducklings. A female MARSH WREN, looking very ragged indeed, was carrying a mouthful of insects for a late hatch of young (our previous late record is 13 Aug).
