I birded at the water district pond this morning, and found an adult 
Spotted Sandpiper on the small island where the Cormorants perch. A 
juvenile Belted Kingfisher, juvenile Great Blue Heron and juvenile Red 
tailed Hawk were observed. Three Green Herons and a noisy Caspian Tern were 
seen flying. A family of Nutmeg Mannikins were seen from the gravel road 
north of the property. Four juveniles and 2 adults flew into a  Pepper tree 
near a Mannikin nest.

  Back on the east walkway I heard something unusual calling and found an 
adult Sora in the river channel. It was in the rush and cattails near a 
bench and fenced in piece of machinery. The Sora was walking around on the 
rush and I was able to get some photos.
