All,

Yesterday 8/19/2004 at 4PM at least 8 Vaux's Swifts swept rapidly over Hidden Villa with a few swallows. In the woods along the Creek Trail at 4:30, I looked up at the right moment to see a very small Sharp-shinned Hawk weaving silently through the tree trunks just a few feet off the ground (I had to look up because it was a bit upslope from me.)

On my way home about 6:30 PM there was a Loggerhead Shrike in one of the small trees along 280 as one looks toward the Stanford Dish.
