The CHILEAN FLAMINGO was in the northwestern corner of Salt Pond A14, where it has been reported previously. As noted by others, it is banded above the left "knee". There were thousands of shorebirds on the exposed mud bars in A14, including one alternate plumaged adult DUNLIN. Also of note was a juvenile BAIRD'S SANDPIPER up near the flamingo on the dike between ponds A9 and A10. A few PHALAROPES of both species were also around.
