After not seeing the Great Blue Herons for about three weeks...it was great to see how big the chicks have gotten. Nest 1 has 4 chicks, with one of them being half the size of the oldest. Nest 2 has 4 chicks....Nest 4 has 3 chicks, Nest 6 was abandoned (wish I knew why?) Nest 7 has 3 chicks and Nest 9 has tiny chicks that I can't see yet..... The Killdeer is nesting in the same spot as last year.....Cliff Swallows are gathering mud for their nests on the bridge....One Canada Goose pair had 22 goslings....must have adopted a few along the way! Other CAGO pairs have 7 and 8 little ones. I didn't check on the Red-shouldered Hawk nest, but saw them flying about.... Lots of Cedar Waxwings (80+) in the trees. At my home....Pac-slope in the creek, Black-headed Grosbeaks at the feeders and Band-tailed Pigeons eating everything....Oak Titmouse still feeding young in the nestbox..... Wishing you all good birding and my best regards, Linda Sullivan _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
