A 4-mile loop on a wednesday afternoon netted 45 species with highlights being Ash-throated Flycatcher, Bullock's Oriole, and Green Heron. County Parks has graciously given me a permit to take 12 people out on this same route next Saturday, May 8th from 8 a.m. - 12 noon. This is reasonably easy hiking with one moderately strenous ascent of 400 yards.(That we'll take nice and slow.) We're on ranch roads for the first two miles and a well-worn cattle path on the return trip. This is the rolling oak woodland you see to the east of San Martin as you drive along Hwy 101. I have 4 rsvp's so far and room for 8 more. A nice opportunity to see a property before it's open to the public. Free of charge. Just looking for some company.
