The bird was located on the fourth settling pond in. It's the pond that's partially inundated and filled with weedy growth. The single Yellow-breasted Chat recently reported at this locale was not near any of the levees, but singing extended choruses from the largest clump of willows in the wooded area between the plowed field and first settling pond. The first pond also held a Blue-winged Teal drake. Also present in the order seen/heard: European Starling, Cliff Swallows, California Towhee, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Common Yellowthroat, Bushtit, American Crow, Black-headed Grosbeak, Song Sparrow, Wilson's Warbler, Mallard, Wrentit, Scrub Jay, White-tailed Kite pair at the nest, Northern Pintail, Black-necked Stilt, American Coot, American Widgeon, Gadwall, American Avocet, Cinnamon Teal, Ruddy Duck, Mourning Dove, Pied-billed Grebe, Dowitcher sp., Brewer's Blackbird, Red-winged Blackbird, Red-shouldered Hawk, Common Raven, Black Phoebe, House Finch Mark Paxton _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
