The bird has 4 bands on its legs: Left leg: white on the top, orange on the bottom Right leg: green and green You can learn more about color bands on Snowies at www.prbo.org/snowysoap The site tells the story of 3 Snowy Plovers and the nests they have. Great photos. This site will be updated soon with new info on the nesting birds. If you see a Snowy Plover anywhere with color bands, please report it to Frances Bidstrup at francesbid AT directcon.net . SFBBO.org (in conjunction with the Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge?) is running a monitoring program for Snowy Plovers in the Bay Area, but it sounds as if Frances will take data from anyone who sees one-any location in the West.
