Hello birders,

After work I traveled up Sierra Rd and found a corral with a stock pond 
next to it near the top and staked out the area for about 45 minutes.  
No luck on the LALO.  However, there were plenty of other birds 
observed there or along the road.  I'd have to say the treat for me was 
a GREAT-HORNED OWL perched on a wire surveying a grassy field--probably 
ready to swoop down on an unsuspecting rodent.  There was absolutely no 
place to stop on the road to watch :(  Another highlight for me was a 
displaying WILD TURKEY.  Other birds included

Western Meadowlark
Bullock's Oriole
Yellow-billed Magpie
Mourning Dove
European Starling
Red-winged Blackbird
Lesser Goldfinch
Orange-crowned Warbler

Watched a marvelous sunset on the way down.
