Yesterday afternoon, I saw a Peregrine Falcon (new yard bird) flying high over and in a southeasterly direction from our backyard in Milpitas (near N. Park Victoria and Kennedy). Also, circling was a Cooper's Hawk. One or both caused all the feeding yard birds to scatter. Today, there was an Orange-crowned Warbler gleaning the leaves in a small, potted Japanese Maple on our patio and 20-25 Cedar Waxwings made a short stop-over in the large Chinese Maple. More and more Brown-headed Cowbirds at the feeders too. -- Randy Little, Milpitas, CA [[email protected]] "I bird because the voices in my head tell me to."
