Folks:

This afternoon, 4/15/2004, I stopped by Lake Cunningham to look at the 
nesting ardeids that Summer Brasuel reported this week.  At the top of the 
island, three GREAT EGRETS were quite visible incubating on nests.  I saw 
one SNOWY EGRET, standing around as frequently occurs at a colony, but no 
nesting evidence.  I had six or seven BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS in the 
bushes, but again no nesting evidence.  Have any of the herons used this 
island for nesting in previous years?
