I pished one close enough for a quick look and heard three more before completing my 2 mile loop. Orange crowned Warblers were numerous and for the first time got two of them to come within ten feet of me. I heard many Blue Gray Gnatcatchers all along the trail in ten separate locations. Two nesting pairs were seen. Many Spotted Towhees, and a few Wrentits were heard only. A pair of Quail ran across the trail and more were heard in the brush. One Wild Turkey flew across the trail nearly striking the head of a hiker. White tailed Kite, Red shouldered Hawk, Red tailed Hawk and Am. Kestrel also seen. Many Violet Green Swallows, and a few noisy White throated Swifts were flying high overhead. Acorn and Nuttalls the only Woodpeckers seen today. Three Pacific-slope Flycatcher were heard along the Senador Mine trail. Janna Pauser _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
