I headed up to Ed Levin Park over lunch today 4/9/04.  By working the
floering eucalyptus I was treated to nice looks at 2 adult male RUFOUS
HUMMINGBIRDS among the territorial ALLEN'S HUMMINGBIRDS.  A hike up to
the sycamores above Sandy Wool Lake failed to produce a Lazuli
Bunting, but did turn up 3+ RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROWS and 2 singing
GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS (nice looks at one!).  LESSER GOLDFINCHES were
carrying nest material at two different locations.  Lingering sparrows
included 6 GOLDEN-CROWNED, 5 WHITE-CROWNED, 2+ LINCOLN'S and a
SAVANNAH.
