We saw 40 different species. Highlights were a lot of Cliff Swallows nesting in every nook and cranny and Barn Swallows, Common Yellowthroat, American Goldfinch and Brown-headed Cowbirds. We saw 4 Great Egret nests on the easten-most island. There were many Snowy's in the same shrubs, but we didn't see any nests. We watched a lot of posturing and displaying between the Great Egrets and Snowy's. There was one empty nest nearby and a Great Egret was pilfering sticks from it. A flock of Western Sandpipers flew in and were wading in the pool of rain water that still exists on the north side of the lake with one lone Least Sandpiper among the them.
