Hamilton to San Antonio Valley for the wildflowers. Goldfields were widespread in the valley, and about at their peak, but not as spectacular as in some springs. A variety of lupines, penstemons, Indian paintbrush, and such on Mt. Hamilton as well as along Arroyo Mocho. I stopped a couple of places where I had seen Lewis's Woodpeckers a month ago, but did not find any. Lunch at the junction provided a male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD as well as a female Selasphorus and 4+ Annas. Across from the cafe, the fiddleneck is in bloom at the CDF station and in a brief stop I saw two male LAWRENCE'S GOLDFINCHES and a female working on a nest.
