Next Thursday I will be picking up out of state birders at the SF airport. This will be around 0730. If traffic allows we should be across the Golden Gate Bridge by 0830. The first stop (0900) is the shorebird ponds off Lucky Drive, an exit in San Rafeal off Hwy 101. If anybody wants to meet me there I will guide us up to Humboldt in the birding style I like best. Lots of quick and easy spots and let's see some birds. The web site has the details of the events and how to sign up, however, any attendees who would be driving anyway can join our convoy and would not have to pay for the Hwy 101 north trip. If you don't want to drive though, you can sign up and I will arrange to pick you up. We also have a Hwy 101 south trip to bring you back. Personally I like to lead the post festival Blitz Trip to NE California. This also returns you to San Fransico but on Wednesday, not Monday. Boy-oh-boy, I'm looking forward to seven days of kick-ass birding, but also big worries with the whole festival thing going on. But, the web page is fully automated, our leaders are preped and birders are just the best folks who always understand that we are trying to do our best. Gray Jays, Barred Owls, Ruffed Grouse and Black-capped Chickadees have all be seen or heard recently. The murrelets are still zinging through the Old Growth, and fortunately those giants aren't going anywhere. You are welcome to join us, reply to me off line or think about coming next year (April 15-18th 2005) if you can't make it this time. Yours Rob Robert W. I'd hate this promo to crop up again and again in the digest. - r _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
