Numbers of Black-headed Grosbeaks continue to climb, and one was singing from a willow almost directly over the road. Three male Bullock's Orioles were calling from the sycamores on the northeast bank of the creek. No warblers singing yet, although an Orange-crowned was present last week. All the other usual suspects: Mourning Dove, American Robin, American Crow, Cliff Swallow, Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Chestnut-backed Chickadees, Lesser Goldfinch, Bushtit, Black Phoebe, European Starling. My stop was by necessity very brief, and I didn't have time to try to locate the Sandhill Crane that Dan Cooper, R.J. Adams and I first found at San Felipe Lake, but I'm told by others that the bird remains. Mark Paxton _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
