All,

I just returned from seeing a COMMON BLACK-HEADED GULL that Bob
and Frank found at the San Jose-Santa Clara WPCP ponds from the
CCFS dike.  Driving in from the south the bird was where the first
ponds start, but in the second pond away from the road.  It was
with BONAPARTE'S GULLS, was bigger with a bigger (and red) bill,
and has not yet completely acquired alternate plumage.  When I      
left it had gone to sleep in the middle of the BONAPARTE'S GULL
flock (but on the near edge).
