View Adult Ed. Birding class to Ed Levin park today. Some of the highlights follow: A nesting Great Horned Owl was found by my sharp eyed student Viki Baker. The nest is located behind (east) Spring Valley Pond on the east side of the first parking lot. Two little fuzzy white owl chicks were seen poking their heads over the edge of the nest. Nesting Tree Swallows, Starlings, and Western Bluebirds were also seen in the same general area as the owls. A Red-shouldered Hawk pair are still hanging around the southwest side of the Spring Valley Pond. Bullock's Orioles were seen at the Elm picnic area and dog park behind Sandy Wool Lake. We also had fleeting glimpses of a Barn Owl at the Elm area. It was a very nice day for birding. Good birding Lou _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
