Good afternoon SBBers....

I decided to check out Oka Pond this morning and found one male Lesser Scaup 
and three females were in the large Oka pond.  I had one Great Blue Heron 
heading back towards Vasona, one Great Egret and 5 Green Herons.  A single male 
Ring-necked Duck was in the filtering ponds along Dell Avenue. Lots of 
Red-winged Blackbirds bring nesting material into the reeds.  There are two Canada 
Geese nests going and before I forget a single Greater Yellowlegs by Snipe Island.

On my way out..... a beautiful adult Golden Eagle was soaring over the Oka 
Ponds side and I watched it for a good 5 minutes before it headed toward 
Vasona....

On a Vasona note...since today is a Persian holiday and Vasona is packed with 
people, I checked the back side of the GBHE Colony (didn't want to go into 
Vasona) and you can hear the cackling of the chicks......
