We again got to see the pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL. Today they were resting on the edge of the island in the pond just south of the observation platform. I had not seen this pair for a few days. Two male and one female CINNAMON TEAL and a pair of AMERICAN WIGEON were in the flooded area next to the wooden walkway along with about 60 Black-necked Stilts. I'm enjoying watching the progress of two ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS' nestlings along the Baylands Trail. Most days I can see their heads above the rim of the nest. Today, a CANADA GOOSE began sitting on her nest at the south end of the pond. This pond is south of the observation platform. This pair of Geese have been in this area for several weeks and I had seen her at the nest before but today was the day she appears to have settled in. This is the third spring my husband and I have walked here regularly and the first time we have had nesting Canada Geese at the pond.
