At noon, the Stilt Sandpiper was feeding in the open on the east side of the railroad tracks in the first pond north of the EEC entrance road. At 12:15 farther north, perhaps a half-mile, in the large pond south of where the tracks meet the main line, there was a golden-type plover, probably the American seen last week. It was about midway along the far (west) side of the pond moving among the small 'islands' of vegetation. A Black-bellied was near the south end for comparison. The Stilt was seen again on the way back. Word of caution: Zanker - Los Esteros Roads have large trucks between the landfills and Hwy 237 losing rocks. I had my windshield cracked yesterday.
