Best birds were three closely associating PECTORAL SANDPIPERS feeding way out in New Chicago Marsh. A WILLETT did manage to cause some excitement when it suddenly raised it's wings. A birder from southern Calif. [looking for the HUGO] mentioned that he had seen a Solitary Sandpiper earlier while walking along the EEC entrance road, this about an hour after the sighting. The bird was not refound during a subsequent, thorough check of both sides of the road by four birders but then it might be a good idea to pay a little more attention while driving along this road for the next couple days.
