VERY windy! Birds were mainly hunkered down. I ran into Anne Spence of MBB. She had been there for quite awhile, walking all around State & Spreckles as well as far out the RR tracks, without seeing the Godwits. I lucked out on the Stilt Sandpiper. Around 6pm, the wind briefly died down with Dowitchers & Wilson's Phalaropes caming out to feed. Among them was the Stilt Sandpiper. For those of you looking for it, I noticed it first because its tertials (ok, wing feathers at the end, over its tail -- right name?) were rust-brown colored, but its back (mantel?) had lovely soft gray feathers. There was a tiny bit of barring still under its tail. Kris Olson Menlo Park _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
