Thanks to the keen > eye of Christine Wolf we saw the STILT SANDPIPER but had no luck with the > godwits. > > Joe and All, Late last night I found out that Jean Myers, who Frank Vanslager and I had been birding with earlier in the day on Sat. 9/6 had in fact seen and photographed both of the Juvenile HUGO [we weren't sure earlier as Jean, Frank and I could not refind then at around 11 AM and Jean herself wanted to wait until she saw the pictures and had a chance to put them on her web site]. In my rush to verify Jean's sightings [and photography] and to let as many birder's as possible know of the recent turn of events I called into the Rare Bird Hotline [about 8:15 PM on 9/6] and replied to her e-mail [I also made several personal calls to birders], unfortunately I apparently failed to select Reply All and only sent my response to Jeans message to her. Seeing only Les Chibana's e-mail this morning I thought that I would resend my e-mail of 9/6 this morning 9/7 [note two different days on the headings] to add some small amount of additional details. I hope this caused no real confusion. If anyone saw the Hudsonian Godwits on Sunday [9/7] please respond on SBB and on the Rare Bird Hotline.
