Bird activity was low, but a couple of birds of interest were observed. At least four Western Tanagers were observed in scattered locations. A single immature Lewis' Woodpecker was seen at Kelly Lake in an area where we have not observed this species before. It almost certainly represents post breeding dispersal as the birds have not been found on a regular basis anywhere in the park except in San Antonio Valley. Also at Kelly Lake were one and possibly two immature Willow Flycatchers. We have one earlier record of this species from this time frame, but this species has been rare in the park.
