The time was about 10-1, but I spent half that time using my free weekend long distance minutes. Still, I saw the Osprey fly low over my head and circle three or four times. The day was routine until I stopped by the gate between the Los Alamitos Creek Trail and the Park, upstream from the footbridge. The Eucs there were filled with the White-Breasted Nuthatch, the Nuttall's Woodpecker, Northern Flickers, Acorn Woodpeckers, and the Red-Breasted Sapsucker. They were low, in bright sun, and generous in their posing. I think I heard the Downy Woodpecker, but I did not see one. That would have been too much. This list would be longer if I had taken my scope( lots of Gulls): Pied-Billed Grebe Double-Crested Cormorant Canada Goose Mallard Common Merganser American Coot Ring-Billed Gull and other gulls Snowy Egret Turkey Vulture Osprey Mourning Dove Rock Dove (Feral Pigeon) Acorn Woodpecker Red-Breasted Sapsucker Nuttall's Woodpecker Northern Flicker (Red) Black Phoebe Oak Titmouse White-Breasted Nuthatch Bewick's Wren Northern Mockingbird Yellow-Rumped Warbler Golden-crowned Sparrow White-crowned Sparrow Red-Winged Blackbird -- Gordon Barrett [[email protected]] _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
