Our backyard list this morning had RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET bathing at one of the water features. 5 AMERICAN CROWS mobbing a young RED-TAILED HAWK in our neighbors redwood tree. 7 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS circling in the thermals heading east (toward Calaveras Reservoir??) Besides the normal cast of characters that show up at the various feeders, a female WESTERN TANAGER came to drink at another of the water features in our backyard. In with the now returned and regular WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS (5) was a single GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW at the white millet feeder. None were new to our backyard list, but not typical of everyday visitors. The tanager was our first fall record for our backyard. All other backyard records for Western Tanager have been between April 26 - May 16. _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
