I can only guess that no one was as lucky as us in viewing the robin. I could have gone into all sorts of detail, but at the same time I could have copied the information from any informed tome. Trust me as I would not have insulted your intelligence by giving you a bum steer. I saw this bird in perfect light through a scope for long enough to be convinced, and lets be fair, it is not a difficult bird to split from the alternative possibles, and I had my book with me so I was not reporting from memory or field notes which can never be perfect. Please do not be misled by our reporting of the colours as we were only trying to rule out other possibles. I appreciate that as a recorder you have to be sure and I am certain.
