Today I caught a nice glimpse of a Red-tail Hawk carrying a fairly large 
(~3' long) branch into its nest above Matadero Creek, just downstream from 
Page Mill Expressway, in the top of a large Valley Oak that is growing on 
the creek bank in the horse pasture there.

This nest was in use last year too, although I don't know how successful it 
was.

The nest is only about 50 yards from where Stanford has proposed to build a 
trail next to the expressway.
