All,

There are still at least 2 Lewis's Woodpeckers at Alpine Pond (Intersection of Skyline Blvd and PageMill/Alpine Rds. along the San Mateo/ Santa Clara County boundary). Teresa Grieve, a local resident, told me she'd seen 2 there last evening, and I checked it out this AM (11/20/03) at 7:30. At that time they were easily found near the tops of different dead or dying pines along Alpine Rd., including some of those at the actual roadside. Some of these trees are showing signs of recent Pileated Woodpecker excavation too.
