There is a fairly new man-made pond here in East San Jose/Evergreen area. There is no obvious name for the small park located in a new housing development just off Aborn Rd. It is specifically located at the end of Pappani Way and Lakeside Dr.. Today I saw 3 female HOODED MERGANSERS, 2 male BUFFLEHEADS and 6 females, 2 MUTE SWANS, 2 COOTS, 11 male MALLARDS and 9 females, and 2 BLACK PHOEBES. Usually there are Candian geese that fly over from Lake Cunningham, but I did not see them today. I will start looking for male Hooded Mergansers to join the ladies.
