The 23rd annual Palo Alto Summer Bird Count is almost upon us! This count is traditionally held on the first Saturday of June, making it June 7th this year. Yours truly has been asked to recruit the leaders for the eight regions, which coincide with the regions for the Palo Alto Christmas Count. As of this moment, regions 1 and 3 are without a coordinator, and I am looking for someone to step up to cover those areas. It is imperative that all the usual areas are covered to maintain consistent data. If you would be willing to serve in this capacity, please give me a call. If you have not done this before, not to worry...I will explain the responsibilities and provide you with the necessary tools to get the job done. There will be a countdown dinner as usual in the evening. I will provide information on that as we get closer to the count date. Many of you participate in this count regularly, and your efforts are much appreciated. If you are new to the count, please consider spending part or all of your day counting with your friends, knowing that your time is well-spent. If you have a particular area in which you would like to count, or if you are unsure who your region coordinator is, let me know and I will put you in touch with him or her. So mark your calendars and be ready to join in the fun on the 7th. You'll be glad you did! Questions? E-mail or call me at 408-996-0434. Jack Cole --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
