Best encounter was with a family of three WILSON'S WARBLERS. Mama was feeding what appeared to be a recent fledgling. The babe still had a lot of downy grey. The only real hint of the bright yellow jewel-to-be was around the eyes. Otherwise, it looked like it had on a fuzzy grey vest. I had several HUTTON'S VIREOS just a little ways away from Villa Maria. While looking at one "singing" in the scope, I saw it while it changed pitch for its song. The two notes were only a heartbeat apart. The new pitch did not have the uprising note that I typically associate with Hutton's. Instead, it was very high pitched and more chirpy but still with the endless repetition. :-) Best Regards, Kirsten R.
