I picked up on a Red-breasted Nuthatch foraging and calling. I saw it fly to a dead bay tree snag and when I got my binoculars on the area of the tree, the bird was gone, but there was nice nest cavity. I watched for a half hour, but I saw no bird exit. I didn't actually see the bird go into the hole. This trail is on the northeast side of Skyline and is in Santa Clara County. I believe this is an edge block (7520?) that already has breeding confirmation.
