Hello All,

The window for the SCVAS Spring Birdathon closed yesterday, May 12th.  If
you participated in the Birdathon -- Thanks! You supported youth education
in Santa Clara County.

Now, if you want to compete for one of the many prizes, you must submit your
pledges and your species lists to SCVAS (Susan Bell: 408-252-3747) no later
than May 28th.  If you are competing in the "Most Unusual" category, you
must also submit documentation by May 28th.   I remind you that the awards
dinner for participants will be at 6 PM at SCVAS headquarters (McClellan
Ranch) on June 3rd.

So far, we have heard that one-day species totals of 157 were obtained in
mid-April and a total of 165 was reached just a few days ago for a 48-hour
birdathon.   As expected, timing was an important factor in the species
counts.   SCVAS thanks all of our generous prize donors and all those who
participated in the Birdathon --- and we hope you had as much fun as we did.
See you on the 3rd.   But, please get your results to SCVAS by May 28th.
