This morning I took the 9-mile loop trail from the Alviso Marina that goes around salt ponds A9 - A15.  While walking west along the Alviso Slough trail at about 9:30AM, a single CATTLE EGRET flew in front of me from pond A7 on the Sunnyvale side of Alviso Slough and continued flying over the A11 pond, disappearing to the east.  A short stop at the Jubilee Center parking lot at Arzino Ranch showed no Yellow-headed Blackbirds, but did yield 8 Burrowing Owls.
